With the Labor Day holiday behind us we bid an unofficial goodbye to summer. Typically the season is a proving ground of sorts for MC’s to validate their position in Hip-Hop music, and 2013 was no different.
For many years Jay-Z asserted that he held us down for several summers and Rick Ross rightfully claimed, “The Summer’s Mine,” in 2010 while “BMF” reigned supreme. So if you can stay hot from June to August, then you have our interest.
In 2013, a bevy of singles, mixtapes and full-length albums came across our desks and tore up clubs, blared across radio airwaves and sent arenas into frenzies. While we didn’t rock with everything, there are some songs that were undeniable. Here are the top 15 Hip-Hop songs of the summer of 2013.
