As of Saturday, November 16, the hashtags #Cortaca and #Cortaca2013 will forever live in infamy due to what it represents to students at SUNY Cortland. But to the surrounding community, it will be a reminder of the utter carnage caused by a party students threw.

The occasion, you ask? Well that would be a rivalry football game, titled the Cortland Jug, between the aforementioned institution and Ithaca College. Following a win on the former’s part, fans and onlookers alike held an apropos celebration om Clayton Street that soon spiraled out of control with the help of alcohol and other assumed substances.

An estimated 4,000 to 6,000 people were said to be on the residential block, and as you’d guess, the festivity became uncontrollable. And that’s with a nice amount of police presence and 30 arrests.

CNYCentral reports that authorities called several local law enforcement agencies to help.

Thanks to handy-dandy social media, folks near and far from SUNY Cortland can live vicariously through the Project X-style party held that fateful afternoon. See those in a gallery on the following pages.
