Floyd Mayweather has attempted to put behind him past allegations regarding domestic abuse against the mother of his children, Josie Harris. After serving a brief jail stint in 2012, Mayweather hasn’t said much about the incident until a recent chat with Jamie Foster Brown of Sister 2 Sister Magazine.

Brown, a domestic violence survivor herself, landed an exclusive interview with Mayweather for her publication’s December issue, and dug in regarding the 2010 dispute between he and Harris that eventually landed the Money Team boxer two months in a Las Vegas prison.

From Sister 2 Sister:

Floyd: So what have you heard about me? What do they say about me?

Jamie: Oh, honey, when I said I was going to do Floyd Mayweather, they said, “He beats them women up,” and “He doesn’t care about women,” and all that. I think I heard that about you before I heard about how great you are.

Floyd: Okay, I just want to say, what I do for a living, I’m in a contact sport, right? And if they say someone had bodily harm done to ’em, since I’m already a fighter, before even giving me a chance, they’re going to say, “He’s guilty.” Now, restraining a woman that’s on drugs and alcohol, have I ever done that? Yes, from going crazy.

Jamie: When you say restraining, do you mean pushing them?

Floyd: No, holding them.

Jamie: Holding them back.

Mayweather never clarifies exactly what happened the night of the Harris dispute, but does explain that he pleaded guilty to the charges because he didn’t want his children involved in the trial and being instructed to testify against their father.

Brown also asks Mayweather about his current fiancee, Shantel Jackson, faithfulness and much more.
