Hip-Hop suffered another loss yesterday (Jan. 3), as Queens native and former G-Unit affiliate Mazaradi Fox was shot dead in Queens.

According to NY Daily News, Fox, born Jamal Green, was murdered at Farmers Blvd. and 134th Ave. in Jamaica, Queens at about 4:10 p.m. based on police reports. A gunman donning a black ski mask approached Fox’s white SUV and unloaded on the rapper and three other passengers in the vehicle.

A 21-year-old man who was hit in the neck and shoulder is in critical condition. Another man, 22-years-old, was shot in the arm, while the remaining victim, a woman in her 20s, suffered a graze wound to her neck.

After being shot, Fox attempted to flee the SUV, but eventually collapsed in a nearby driveway. He died on the scene.

Fox just came home after serving a two year sentence for attempted assault on December 20.

A rep from G-Unit issued a statement saying, “We’re sorry to hear about the tragic news. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends. Despite reports, he was never on the G-Unit record label. 50 Cent was in his New York studio and was saddened when he heard the news. He sends his condolences to Mazaradi’s family.”

Following, 50 also chimed in. “Saddened by the news of Mazaradi’s tragic passing my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends,” the fellow Queens native said.

Mazaradi Fox was just 42-years-old.
