TDE were cooking up heat long before the world knew their name. Proof can be heard on “To The Top,” a track by Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar that was recorded way back in 2007.

The song’s producer Mano debuted the song, which was left in hard drive limo after the powers that be got involved in the creative process. The beatsmith gave a brief explanation for the cut’s origin on Twitter, during which he said an A&R wanted him to sign a horrible production deal and when opted not to, the collaboration was laid to rest.
