A Chicago man who has been living with HIV and hid his status from an ex-girlfriend has been charged for knowingly infecting the woman. The man was ordered held on $750,000 bail last Thursday by the judge in the case, and is facing a felony charge.
Johanson Little of the 4400 block of South State Street dated the woman he infected for one year between June 2012 and June 2013 according to prosecutors. Last February, the victim learned she had the HIV virus after a physical examination. The woman said she was not intimate with anyone else during her relationship with Little, and did not have any partners in the months after the breakup before her discovery.

The victim then learned from members of Little’s deceased wife’s family that the woman had previously died of complications from AIDS, according to prosecutors.
Little had previously told the victim that his wife had died of ovarian cancer and when the victim confronted Little he admitted that he knew he was HIV positive when they had sex, Campbell said.
Little has been HIV positive since 2003, prosecutors said.
“He admitted that he knew of his HIV status at the time that he was having a sexual relationship with the victim but did not want to tell her,” Campbell said.
Little was charged with criminal transmission of HIV, a class 2 felony in the state of Illinois.
