A high school senior from Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, N.C. thought it would be cute to pull one last stunt as he walked across the stage during graduation.
Maybe he should have thought twice about that.
That stunt–which consisted of Quinton Murphy stripped out of his cap and gown down to his tighty leopard-printed underwear–cost him his diploma says the Cumberland County School Superintendent Dr. Frank Till.
With five more graduation ceremonies scheduled in the district to close out the school year, Till told WNCN of Raleigh that any similar pranks would mean “long-term consequences.”
Murphy was escorted from the premises by a security officer but dispute his inevitable punishment (are they going to take his passing grades away?) the reception for the struggle was well-received.
Northern Kentucky basketball player Daniel Camps expressed his delight with the stunt on Twitter saying, “S/O to my alma mater Jack Britt for the graduation striptease prank whoever you are, you are going down in history.”
Watch Murphy (and his pants) go down in history in the video below. For what it’s worth, the ceremony did look communion cracker dry.
