After falling victim to a shooting at the hands of Remy Ma, a woman will have to be on the losing end in regards to her attempts at legal action.

Makeda Barnes-Joseph, the woman shot by the female rapper, had her lawsuit against Universal Records dismissed by the New York court.

Although the victim stated that the rapper’s label was supporting her actions , it was revealed today[May 11] that Universal had dropped Remy Ma nine months prior to the shooting and the case was cleared against the label.

Filing a multi-million dollar suit against the record label, Barnes-Joseph was making the claim that Universal played a role in her being shot twice.

According to the woman, the label only encouraged her criminal activities when they allowed her to continue releasing music during the investigation.

Remy Ma is still currently serving her jail time and is expected to be released in 2013.  Recent interviews with the rapper, along her husband Papoose, however, have revealed that she might be home a lot sooner than that as she is going through the necessary steps with an appeal.
