Al Green
Before he became a token for love songs, Al Green was a domestic violence incident involving the late Mary Woodson. The already married mother caused Green third-degree burns from pouring hot grits on him (that she made sure would stick to his skin) after he turned down her marriage proposal. She then shot herself to death.
Years later, Green would be accused of domestic violence by his ex wife, Shirley Green.
