Recently R&B crooner Musiq Soulchild thoroughly confused the public when he announced his new Rap-influenced alter ego The Husel. He visited The Breakfast Club to discuss the transition, and let’s just say he wasn’t too pleased with Charlamagne Tha God.
As the music industry gets smaller, artists have to get more creative in order to make their work profitable. In September Musiq presented some new material under his alter ego The Husel. Naturally slander ensued and he was written off.
When he stopped by DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne were less than receptive. The interview tackled the new music in question, R&B music today and more.

1. R&B
He has not left R&B music altogether. He is working on a new Musiq album now.

2. The Scraps
The rumors of him turning in an album with 17 types of genres of music were true. The label, assuming it was Def Jam, turned it down and sent him back to the drawing board.
3. The Husel
When asked to explain the idea behind The Husel, Musiq explained that it is not a person but more of a state of mind.

4. Why
He feels that some of his most recent work fell on deaf ears; therefore he decided to switch things up.
5. The End Result
At the end of the day he just wants to create music and The Husel is apart of the process.
6. Personalities
This is just the beginning of his alter egos, as he has multiple personalities that he is working on for future projects.
7. Charlamagne Tha God
Charlamagne admitted the he is a huge fan of Musiq to the point were he used to rock his baby daughter to the tune of Musiq’s “Love”.
