As Bobby Shmurda’s freedom continues to hang in the balance, the woman who loves him the most is coming forth with very public support.

Bobby Shmurda’s mother, Leslie Pollard, sat down with Lisa Evers over at FOXNY to discuss how she feels her son’s cause has been handled and even cites profiling for Shmurda and his alleged gang.

Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, has been locked up since December 17, 2014, when he and fourteen other defendants were charged with a laundry list of crimes. His bail rejection has also been subject to much fodder in the press. Leslie feels like he’s not getting his fair shake.

“They have their eyes on the minority youth in our neighborhood and they know what they want to see from [them],” she tells FOX. She also she considers the entire GS-9 crew to be her “babies.”

“He has a lot of charisma. He loves to dance. He loves to sing. He likes to be the center of attention, that’s what he likes to do.” she continued. “It’s a minor setback for a major comeback.”

Shumrda has maintained his high spirit in public eye, calling in to HOT 97 to plead his case. According to Evers, Shmurda’s attorney Ken Montgomery says they are still trying to get bail for the “Hot N***a” rapper and they still plan on a not guilty plea for everyone who stands accused.
