Bompton’s very own YG pushed for a panic attack throughout the entire Hip-Hop community when it was reported that he was shot three times in a Los Angeles recording studio.

After making a relatively quick recovery by attending parties and such, YG is setting the record straight with Billboard as his voicebox.

For starters, the rapper born Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson (his full government name was screamed on the opening bars of 2014’s My Krazy Life) says he actually didn’t get shot three times. Bullets have a funny way of showing they care and his injuries were actually one shot, three wounds.

“I got shot in my hip, but I’m all right,” YG tells Billboard, denying he actually knows who pulled the trigger. “I got lucky because a main artery is right there, right around the groin. The bullet didn’t go that deep, and it didn’t hit any bones. I got shot one time. It was three bullet holes because it went in, went out and went back in again.”

The incident occurred on June 12, in Studio City while YG was recording his new album, which he reveals will be titled Still Krazy. Widespread reporting said the rapper was shot and rushed to the hospital, which is true. But the intangible details were indeed, “krazy.”

“After I got shot, I’m telling everybody, ‘Take me to the hospital, because I can’t die,'” he recalled. We hop in my homie’s car and bam — we got in a car accident! We hit an island trying to avoid another car. We had to hop out of the totaled car, hop in another car. At the hospital we had to tell people, ‘Take me serious right now — you don’t even understand what’s going on.’ It was wild.

Watch the interview video interview over at Billboard now. Hopefully this story never repeats itself in real life.
