The second season of Empire is already loaded with A-list cameos so what harm could one more do to the fray?

Mariah Carey was awarded the 2,556th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, August 5, but surprisingly, that wasn’t biggest news of the evening.

The megastar singer was honored with a star-studded audience that included BET’s Stephen Hill, director Brett Ratner, L.A. Reid, her children Monroe and Moroccan Scott Cannon and Lee Daniels. The Empire creator dropped a helluva Easter egg at the ceremony when he announced “Watch her on Empire, you guys. She’s coming on Empire.”

Carey, 45, didn’t add on to the comment but she was beaming in the light of the prestigious honor. Through the course of her three-decade career, she has sold more than 200 million records is the titleholder for the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 song (1995’s “One Sweet Day”).

Scandals That Hit Empire Since Its Debut

Although FOX declined to comment to The Hollywood Reporter and no deal for Carey to appear on the show has been finalized, if Lee Daniels said it, most likely it will come into fruition.
