George Zimmerman unleashed a racist tirade via his Twitter account in the wake of the on-air murder involving alleged Virginia TV shooter Vester Flanagan. Zimmerman attacked gays, Black people and President Barack Obama in his online rant and showed no signs of easing the vicious barbs. Zimmerman posted a series of tweets on Wednesday (Aug. 26) blasting Flanagan’s actions and calling into question his sexual orientation. Taking a cue from racist online trolls that have grown more prevalent in recent times, Zimmerman lampooned President Obama’s statement regarding the Virginia shooting while labeling him an “Ignorant Baboon.” “[T]he # of people who die from gun-related incidents around this country dwarfs any deaths that happen through terrorism,” – Ignorant Baboon,” tweeted Zimmerman on Wednesday evening. Zimmerman, who has been embroiled in a number of arrests and legal clashes since he was acquitted in the murder of unarmed Black teenager Trayvon Martin, has embraced some of the hardline views of the extreme Right and almost appears to relish in the role. On Thursday, Zimmerman followed up his chatter by displaying a photo of Flanagan with the caption of “If Obama Had A Son.” Well, good thing nobody accused Zimmerman of being classy, right?
