James Harden is an MVP caliber NBA player, but his next challenge won’t necessarily be on the basketball court. Harden is teaming with Foot Locker for the #playmytweet contest.
Fans will submit challenges to Harden via Twitter and tag @footlocker and #PlayMyTweet for a chance at the shooting guard actually fulfilling their request. It can be anything from autographing a pair of kicks to rapping your favorite Drake verse.
Just don’t ask for something too crazy or it won’t be considered. Harden will make good on his challenges in October, with a catch.
Says Foot Locker:
Foot Locker’s “Play My Tweet” will take place on Oct. 8 in Houston, with Harden taking shots using basketballs printed with selected fans’ tweets. Harden will read the tweet on the ball and take a shot. If he makes the shot, he’s safe – but if he misses it, he must fulfill the request. Each shot’s difficulty level will correspond to the size of the request, and fans can watch the challenge go down beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET via Foot Locker’s YouTube channel and Twitter page.
“Working with Foot Locker gives me the opportunity to engage with fans in a creative and fun way,” said Harden via a press statement. “I’m excited to see what the fans want me to do and I hope I won’t be doing anything too embarrassing.”
Oh yeah, Harden’s new adidas contract kicks in October 1st, so best believe those will be the sneakers on his feet.
