New York Knicks player Cleanthony Early was shot after leaving a strip club in New York City last night. The NBA player was robbed of his jewelry and shot in the knee early this morning (Dec. 30).
Reports the New York Daily News:
Early, 24, was surrounded by four to six people wearing ski masks and robbed of his items and jewelry — including a gold necklace and gold caps on his teeth, sources said.
The shooting happened at 4:15 a.m., after Early left CityScapes gentlemen’s club on 58th Street in Maspeth Queens.
Early was in an Uber cab, about a mile away from the club, when three cars boxed in the vehicle, sources said.
Early was in stable condition in Elmhurst hospital before being transferred to another hospital as of this morning.
NY1 reports Early was leaving the strip club with his girlfriend.
Why were Early and his girlfriend alone? The fact that was he shot in his right knee, which he has injured in the past—and the cab getting boxed in—clearly means this was a targeted attack.
For shame. Prayers up for Cleanthony Early.
