Bomber Jacket Sales Are Up, Because Kanye West

Kanye West made a fashion staple popular again. Sales of bomber jackets are up because West has been rocking them for a while now.

’Ye had a bunch of Alpha Industries MA-1 bomber jackets made for his Yeezus tour a few years ago (they were green with a Confederate flag patch on the arm). Sales have been flaming ever since.

“Kanye West’s team called us up two or three years ago before his Yeezus tour and said he wanted tour jackets for everyone,” AI CEO Mike Circker told Womens’ Wear Daily. “This was a year ahead of when the trend hit the runways so he was very forward-thinking. He brought 100 jackets or so from us and applied his own logo and patches.”

Circker has seen a 30 percent bump in sales for AI jackets, and he hopes the wave continues.

West was again ahead of his time, resuscitating a trend that has gone in and out of style over the years. With the help of Yeezy though, the jackets have made it back to the runways, and on every Kardashian.

Actually, it’s not just his family, pretty much everyone is rocking the bomber jacket right now.
