One artist who was billed to perform at the Grammys last night (Feb. 15) but didn’t due to a legit reason (side eye towards Lauryn Hill) was Rihanna. The Bajan Pop star had to pull the plug on her performance due to illness.
According to various reports, Rihanna was in town and even rehearsed. However, she is suffering from bronchitis and her doctor recommended she not perform, citing potential permanent damage to her vocal cords.
The “Work” singer took to Twitter late last night apologize to her fans, known affectionately as the Navy.
“#NAVY so sorry I couldn’t be there ….. Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight,” she tweeted.
Rihanna’s latest album, ANTI, is out now.
