Prodigy of Mobb Deep has never been one to squash a beef on social media, but if he wants $153,751.21, he’s going to have to change his tune.

At the end of last year Prodigy sued Universal Music claiming that the label was skimming 50% off his solo projects and features when the original music deal was specifically written for his Mobb Deep duo projects.

 Reports TMZ:

Under the settlement, Universal Music Publishing Group will fork over $153,751.21 to Prodigy’s lawyers … with one string attached. Prodigy must publicly declare the feud is over, with this specific tweet: “My dispute with UMPG was all a misunderstanding. Thankful that we resolved it quickly and happy to be continuing my long-standing relationship with UMPG.”

Even though the proposed settlement isn’t exactly an admission of guilt, it is the latest example that shady music business dealings are nothing new under the sun. Universal is hoping that Prodigy’s tweet helps defer the spotlight from shining on them in this case.
