YG’s debut album, 2014’s My Krazy Life, was a #1 Billboard album, was critically-acclaimed and considered the yin to Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, Maad City yang. However he nor the album and any of its song were nominated for any Grammys that year.

YG chalked the snubs up to the Recording Academy not liking gangsta rap as albums from Wiz Khalifa, Common, Childish Gamino, Iggy Azalea and ScHoolboy Q were nominated ahead of him. Of course, Eminem’s album beat them all.

With this year’s Grammy pool looking like it’s going to be dominated by Khalifa, DrakeKanye West and possibly Kevin Gates and Royce 5’9, does YG stand a chance this year either?
