The streets of Atlanta have long known what happened in the murder case of Bankroll Fresh, but the man who has been held responsible is showing his face and talking for the first time.

Rapper Skully aka No Plug has had fingers pointed at him since Bankroll Fresh was killed this past March. As the case left the Hip-Hop news cycle, not many details have emerged because not much has actually happened. No arrests were made and no retaliation took place.

The reason being that Bankroll Fresh‘s killing has been ruled a case of self-defense. No Plug, the man considered responsible for Fresh’s death has spoke out for the first time and he’s claiming that Fresh shot at him first on that fateful night.

Sitting down with DJ Vlad, surrounded by stacks of money, No Plug answers all of questions directly. At times it appears that he has a carefree and even “happy” attitude about what happened.

No Plug says that he and Fresh knew each other since grade school and were friends at one point. But as they grew older, they grew apart. He suspects that the friction started when he and his crew didn’t allow Fresh to partake in a Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in their neighborhood. The next time they saw each other was months later at the studio and it was there that they got into a fight.

Plug says that the fight was broken up by a mutual friend named “C-Note” [not the producer The Honorable C-Note] and things had calmed down and that he had left. During the fight, he says he dropped his phone and attempted to return inside to retrieve it. But at that point he was met by Fresh with a group of men pointing guns at him.

No Plug lays out the details from that point saying:

“He came out, playin’ with the shit…he fired a shot, and sh*t happened. We pulled off, he end up dead. That’s as simple as shit was. Like he pulled the gun, shot the motherf*cker, couple shots got fired back, he got hit, I leave. Next thing you know, folks callin’ me sayin’ ‘Fresh dead,’ know what I’m sayin’. I called my lawyer…Gucci Mane’s lawyer, gave him $10,000, go down to the homicide, tell [Fresh’s mother] Ms. Benton everything, and sh*t, everything was great. End of story.”
