She’s leaving, but not on that midnight train to Georgia. Gladys Knight minus The Pips is suing her son to stop using her likeness to move fried chicken and waffles and have all memorabilia decorating the restaurants returned to her ASAP.

The “Midnight Train To Georgia” singer originally gave her son her blessing to use her image for the restaurant but decided to cut ties when the feds got involved in the family business.

Reports TMZ:

Gladys wants the person now running the restaurants previously managed by her son,Shanga Hankerson, to 86 her from signs and promotions for the chicken and waffle joints.

Gladys says she gave the green light to use her name and image for the restaurants back in ’99, but put the kibosh on the deal a few months ago after the eateries were raided by the Georgia Department of Revenue. Her son was arrested for allegedly pocketing a million bucks.

Biggie said it best, “Keep ya family and business completely separated. Money and blood don’t mix like two…” well, you know the rest.
