Primetime television is about to be graced by a visit from none other than the godfather of the rap game. West Coast don, Snoop Dogg, will be among the first superstars to appear in special editions of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. Slightly retooled from its original incarnation, the Dogg Father will not be playing for keeps, but rather, he will be attempting to win money for a charity of his choosing. The usual top prize of $1 million has been lessened significantly, with the winner receiving $50,000 instead of the show’s namesake amount.

The show is celebrating its 10th anniversary and will be reuniting with its original host, Regis Philbin, in what is promising to be one of the most dynamic and entertaining spectacles on basic television. Set to make a two-week run, the special episodes of Millionaire will include different celebrities whom will take the legendary “hot seat” to answer a solitary question in an effort to win big for charity.

Other superstars scheduled to appear are Vanessa Williams, Sherri Shepard, Katy Perry, Rachel Ray, Steve Nash, Lauren Conrad, Patricia Heaton, Shawn Johnson, Wynonna, and a “surprise special guest.” The eleven night extravaganza is set to premiere on Sunday, August 9th, at 8 p.m Eastern Time on ABC.

In related Snoop Dogg news, the Dogg Father has decided to add another title to his acclaimed Welcome 2 Tha Chuuch mixtape series. The legendary MC from Long Beach is said to have reached the musical mountaintop once again in what music critics have already dubbed a stellar mixtape. Utilizing a sound that has been described as “vintage West Coast sound”, the compilation was produced entirely by Snoopy D-O-Double Gizzle himself, and features appearances by Kurupt, Daz, Ray J, Uncle Chucc, Tha Twinz, and many more.
