Michelle Obama is not coming to save you. Not in a governmental role at least.
Ever since America elected a President that they want to take back to the store, people have been hoping that the Obamas would consider making a comeback. Since Hillary Clinton failed to become the first woman to be elected President, some have been hoping that Mrs. Obama would consider a run. After all, she spent eight years in the Oval Office, is highly educated and she would come in with an already high approval rating.
Welp, sorry to inform you, but Mrs. Obama isn’t interested. It’s been well documented that she has never been interested in politics. Hell, she went to bed on the night hell froze over. Now, she’s finally telling the world to stop with the hopes and rumors of her ever considering a Presidential run.
Mrs. Obama made her first appearance as a civilian at a speaking engagement in Orlando, Fla. The Orlando Sentinel reports that during her 45-minute speech, she said this about getting into politics.
“It’s all well and good until you start running, and then the knives come out,” she said. “Politics is tough, and it’s hard for a family … I wouldn’t ask my children to do this again because, when you run for higher office, it’s not just you, it’s your whole family.”
She also added, “There’s just so much more we can do outside of the office, because we won’t have the burden of political baggage.”
There’s that. But she does have a point. Just look at what Chance The Rapper has been able to accomplish on his own for the Chicago Public School system with no government involvement.
