Now that Disney’s in charge of the Star Wars franchise they’re going to milk that cow for all that it’s worth. After setting things off with an impressive Episode VII and producing a few spin-offs with Rogue One and the upcoming Han Solo flick, Variety is reporting that Obi-Wan Kenobi is the next Star Wars character to get his own standalone film.

Though Disney hasn’t commented on the project, sources in the know are saying that Billy Elliot‘s Stephen Daldry is in talks to direct the film centering around the Jedi master who trained both Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

While fans would appreciate some back story to the OG Jedi, we’re not sure they’ve gotten the taste of Episode I and II out of their mouths just yet (Episode III offered some redemption to the horrible prequel trilogy).

But as long as Star Wars keeps the box office crackin’ Disney will keep on cooking as they’re also planning films centering around fan favorite bounty hunter Bobba Fett and one of the galaxy’s most dangerous gangsters Jabba the Hutt.

It seems like Disney’s future plans for the Star Wars universe is pretty much set. Here’s to hoping they somehow bring Darth Maul back into the mix because that is one son of a Sith that should’ve lasted more than a few minutes in a horrid prequel.
