Apple stores are still not pardoned from the jux. A man recently walked away with $58K worth of iPhones in a simple but yet truly effective delivery scheme.

On September 14 an unidentified man walked into a downtown Manhattan Apple store claiming he was a messenger. According to NYPD he told store employees he was there for a pickup and was handed over three boxes totaling to $58K worth of smartphones. He proceeded to load up the pricey merchandise to his van and sped off to an unknown location.

The thief is said to be anywhere from 45-55 years old, 5’10” and 195 pounds with a bald head. Police have released video surveillance footage which can be viewed below.

Considering the street value of the smartphones dude came up on a big score. This is not the first time Apple retail has gotten hit for big money. In 2015 a Queens Apple store employee was arrested for stealing one million dollars worth of gift cards.
