Elle Magazine has released their April ‘Music Issue’ highlighting women in the music industry and included in that lineup is soul singer Jennifer Hudson, pop sensation Willow Smith, Aretha Franklin and Young Money’s princess herself—Nicki Minaj.
Inside the issue that features Gwen Stefani on the cover, the ladies model designer fashion and speak on various subjects including their style and new music.
Speaking on her childhood Nicki tells the mag that she was always a tomboy that wanted to have a lead role.
“I always wanted to play with the boys. I didn’t want to be a pawn in their game or have a sidekick role. I wanted to be more of a lead character – a superhero.”
Willow Smith chose to speak on her forthcoming album,
“It’s going to be a party beat. I think you’re gonna like it!”
And a newly svelte Aretha Franklin opted to dish details on her recent weight loss. According to Aretha, she’s more than comfortable being a size 16 because ‘it looks good on her.’
“I am going to rock this [size] 16. Sixteen probably sounds large to girls who wear 10s and 12s, but I love it, because it looks good on me.”
