Rappers and prison is a trend that really needs to stop. Currently, there are numerous rappers who are in prison. These artists are stuck on involuntary vacations for a plethora of reasons, great and small. As a society, we often look up to and idolize our favorite rappers for their talent and success. However, not all of them have managed to stay out of trouble with the law.

While plenty are in jail for something like a parole violation, others are locked up on more heinous charges, like murder. Keep this in mind when proclaiming “Free [Insert Rapper’s Name Here]” to whoever may be listening.

It’s not cool bigging up a potential and allegedly homicidal maniacs or sexual predators, just saying. However, there are certainly cases were the system might have failed them where someone with better lawyers may have never seen the inside of a cell.

Peep a who’s who of notable rappers who are in prison and why below. More times than not, they have no one to blame but themselves.
