Gunplay admittedly has no clue when Def Jam will release his debut album, Living Legend, but he isn’t letting that stop him from releasing new material. Today, he liberates a freestyle over Jay Z’s “Open Letter” for your listening pleasure.
Maybach Music Group is firing on all cylinders. With news of Rick Ross‘ upcoming album and further additions to the clique circulating the Internets, Gunplay enters the fold with a new track called “Kush” for your listening pleasure.
Surprise, surprise. Gunplay returns bearing a gift in audible form to whet appetites before his Def Jam debut, Living Legend. Aptly titled Acquitted, the mixtape is the MMG rapper’s first body of work since his armed robbery case —which could have given him life imprisonment— was dismissed.
Gunplay rose Hip-Hop’s rank in 2012, and almost fell just as quickly due to armed robbery charges that had him facing a life sentence if convicted. However, the case was dismissed in late February and the “Human L.A. Riot” is back to prepping his debut album, which he discussed, among other things, with the good folks at HipHopSince1987.com.
