DJ Kay Slay Sued
DJ Kay Slay is the latest in Hip-Hop to be hit with a lawsuit. The Drama King, real name Keith Grayson, is being taken to court for copyright infringement for his song “Angels Around Me” featuring 50 Cent and G Unit. The song which appeared on his Street Sweeper Volume 2: The Pain From The Game album is said to be an illegal sample of a song by two songwriters.
Those songwriters, Raymond and Richard Grant, claim that Kay Slay's version is identical to a song penned by them also titled “Angels Around Me.”
Raymond and Richard Grant also name Loud Records and Sony BMG in the suit.
Despite his oncoming legal troubles Kay Slay is preparing to release his latest project, More Than Just A DJ in January of 2010. The album is set to feature Ray J, Yo Gotti, Jim Jones, Cam'ron and Busta Rhymes.
