“I put my trust in the wrong people.  That’s my mistake for putting my trust in the wrong people.”

Back in 2008, Donald B. Jenkins, known by his rap alias Baby D, was arrested for allegedly trafficking cocaine after being set up by a “friend”.

With two underground albums already under his belt, he released his first mainstream album, A-Town Secret Weapon, which was fueled by the hit single “I’m Bout Money.”  Getting heavy rotation from the radio and BET, the Georgia rapper was unable to capitalize on his growing popularity as he was forced behind bars.

Now out of prison and on house arrest, Baby D looks to build his momentum from where it started with the upcoming project Fresh Out which is slated for a release in 2010.

The rapper also reflects on his time served and came to the realization that he made his own mistakes, but the major fault came from trusting the wrong people, which led to his downfall.

“Second of all, basically, a guy that I felt like was real close to me, basically my brother from another mother, he got caught up in a situation.  When the pressure got too deep for him, he actually couldn’t handle the situation and damn near snitched on me and set me up.”

Check the video here to see what else Baby D has in store in and outside the music now that he’s free.
