Rihanna recently set another record, after her hit “We Found Love,” shot up the billboard charts coming in at the #9 spot.
With that, Rihanna has earned her 20th single to hit the top 10, making her the fastest solo artist ever to reach such a ranking, even surpassing the iconic Madonna.
In June 2005, “Pon De Replay” peaked at #2 spot, and from there, she reached 20 top 10s in a span of just six years and four months, besting Madonna for the quickest collection of top 10s among soloists (from an artist’s first Hot 100 appearance) in the chart’s 53-year history.”
Despite passing Madonna, she looks up to her as an icon.
“I think that Madonna was a great inspiration for me, especially on my earlier work.”
Among all musical acts, Rihanna’s run only falls behind the legendary Beatles as the fastest to reach the milestone.
