The New York Knicks are one of the more popular teams in all of sports. While the stories of Jeremy Lin and Carmelo Anthony have captivated the nation, it is their bench that have been the biggest catalyst to their winning basketball. The second unit, affectionately named “Mob Deep” by Twitter fans and Knicks rookie Iman Shumpert, have been as entertaining and effective a bench in all of pro basketball. Hip-Hop Wired recently caught up with one half of the Infamous Mobb Deep, Prodigy, and he spoke on his appreciation of the nickname. Prodigy also revealed that the duo will be releasing a song dedicated to the Knicks’ second unit in a few days.
