Meek Mill needs a little more time to work on his Dreams & Nightmares debut. Although other sites reported that the album will drop in September, or mid-October, Hip-Hop Wired can exclusively report that the new date will be the end of October.

Maybach Music head Rick Ross also spoke on a possible new date during his interview with Power 105’s the Breakfast Club, Wednesday (Aug. 1). “He coming soon, he coming real soon,”  Ross revealed. “He’s still putting the final touches on his debut making sure it’s a classic, and the most definitely what it will be.”

The 25-year-old’s highly anticipated release was set to closely follow his Dreamchasers 2 mixtape which dropped in May. The release was downloaded more than 2 million  times in less than a week. “It felt good, I been working on it for the last six months,” Meek told Hip-Hop Wired. “It felt good to know something you worked on turned out right. It’s giving me more confidence, gave more motivation to going into the album. It’s a good feeling. Being hot is just an all-around good feeling.”

Aside from solidifying his position as one of the most talked about  new MCs in the game, the Philly native’s project was also met with controversy, thanks to his “Amen” single. A local pastor launched a short-lived boycott against the rapper and the song. Both men engaged in a heated debate over the track, and Meek later apologized if he offended anyone, as that was not his intention. “I wasn’t trying to disrespect no religion or anything like that,” he said.  “My whole family is Christian. I have a half Christian, half Muslim family, the situation, the song, that’s what energy it felt and if anybody feel disrespected, I ain’t do it in that way.”

Dreams & Nightmares was originally slated to drop Aug. 28.
