Mississippi rhyme slinger Big Sant is sort of a wolf in sheep’s clothing to those oblivious of his lyrical skills. Some have it misconstrued, likening Big Sant to being Big K.R.I.T.‘s hype man, but the southern native is actually beyond capable of standing on his own two as an MC. Don’t believe me? Well the proof’s in the pudding, which is in this case Big Sant’s latest mixtape MFxOG.

The 13-song project plays more like an album than a mixtape, with clear influences from Dirty South greats like UGK, 8Ball & MJG, Outkast, and Three 6 Mafia. MFxOG doesn’t sound the least bit dated, though. The project features Big K.R.I.T., Jackie Chain, King Mez, Mookie Jones, Phonte and Tito Lopez. The production is equally stellar, donning sounds from the aforementioned Big K.R.I.T., Cardo, The Kickdrums, and more.
