Styles P has a friendly convo with Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg, during which he describes how he finagled his way into great seats at a recent Kevin Heart show, his comedic potential, Gunplay on house arrest, and the difficulties of separating the industry from the streets.

SP The Ghost prefaced his statements on Gunplay by recalling his own memorable bid in jail from just under a decade ago.

According to Styles, “You have a lot of regrets.” “One, you know besides being an artist, just is being a man and being locked up, and being away from your family. And then when you’re an artist, you realize the opportunities you’re missing; the money you’re missing.”

“I know Gunplay. I’ve met Gunplay a couple of times. He’s a real cool dude,” said SP. “And what I get from him, is before he made it to Hip-Hop, he’s generally a real street dude. I think sometimes when your get in Hip-Hop it’s difficult to just switch up; to just automatically say I’m laying back and I’m cool, because your are who you are…”

An older, wiser Styles recognizes that no one’s perfect, but he also has a feel for his greater purpose. Way to impart wisdom on the younger dudes OG.
