Atlanta’s Aja Restaurant played host Monday to WE TV’s private dinner and advanced screening of the “Braxton Family Values” reality series.

Over honey ginger chicken and cocktails, Grammy-winning superstar Toni Braxton, her sisters Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar along with mom Evelyn dished on everything from bankruptcies to bad marriages and background singing.

“A lot of things will be revealed on the show that will explain some of the situations I’ve been in over the last couple years,” said Toni, adding with a smile: “But you gotta watch and see.”

HipHopWired was in the building and had a chance to speak with the Braxton ladies on the upcoming insight into their lives.

On the show, which premieres Tuesday, April 12 at 9pm ET/PT on WE tv, viewers will see the ladies in their own personal dynamics—Toni, is touring and performing for autism awareness, an outspoken Tamar Braxton easily becomes the star of the program, an emotional and motherly Traci Braxton is seen crying, the responsible sister and assistant to Toni, Towanda, willingly takes charge, and Trina, “the party girl,” worries her sisters with her love for libations.

After viewing the first episode of “Braxton Family Values”, HipHopWired asked the ladies individually what they’d like viewers to take away from the program and one thing they learned.

For Traci, she hopes viewers see that she’s in touch with her emotions but also see a little of themselves in each Braxton sister throughout the program.

“That I can be emotional and even as a woman that has a child at an early age, you can still have a career and things that you like to do in life…every woman is a Braxton.”

For Tamar, she wants people to not only relate to them individually but see how she progressed and learned to become a better listener.

You’ll find yourself in one of us at some point in an episode. Everything is not just entertainment, it’s good to look at something and take something and apply it to your life positively. For me, it’s just to not say everything that I’m thinking. Sometimes it’s okay to be quiet and let people vent.“

Jumping into the convo, Toni added that she’d like viewers to see an intimate side of her outside of her life in the spotlight.

“For me I wanted everyone to see me as a sister and a mom. Being a singer is what I do for a living but the heart of me is being a family member. I love my sisters, I’m the oldest so I almost feel like a second mom. I didn’t want to be glamorous in the video, I just wanted you to see me there and exposed outside of Toni Braxton the singer.”

Towanda, who’s featured on the show having marital issues, expressed that she wants women to learn from her relationship.

“I want everyone to understand that just because you’re going through a situation with your marriage, that doesn’t mean that you have to be angry. Because we have children together, you also have to remember that you have to raise your children. You don’t have to be mean, you don’t have to be bitter. You can have a good friendship.”

Trina and the ladies’ mother Evelyn had similar sentiments, that they want viewers to see how they prevailed over their issues including the end of Evelyn’s marriage.

“Forgiveness does not happen overnight, it takes time. I think once you begin to love yourself, and see who you really are, you’re gonna make it,” says Evelyn.

“I think the lyrics of the song say it best, “We fall down but we get up,” added Trina.
