As Grammy weekend approaches us, Lupe Fiasco and Guy Sebastian spoke with Jenny Boom Boom about the worldwide success of their single, “Battle Scars.”“‘Battle Scars’ was originally Guy Sebastian and Lupe Fiasco‘s song released in Australia. It became a massive record, the second highest selling record in the history of Australia. Off of that success, Guy had the idea to maybe put this out in America,” says Lupe. “So we put it on my album here and it is slowly climbing up the charts, it’s almost gold and it has become this big whirlwind thing.”

During the interview, Lupe spoke on the chances of finally taking home the Grammy for best rap album even though he doesn’t believe he has a real chance. His album Food And Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1 is nominated for the prestigious award.  “Every album since Food & Liquor, my first album release, has been nominated for Best Rap Album,” says Lupe, who is up against Drake, Nas, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross for the award.

“No, clearly I won’t,” says the Atlantic Records rapper when asked if he believed if he is going to win the award. “I think they are going to give it to Nas to be honest.”
