The general public is becoming aware of Chance The Rapper, whose fanfare expanded tenfold last year after he released critically acclaimed mixtape, Acid Rap. Today, the bubbling MC makes an appearance on singer Pia Mia’s new song, “Fight For You.”
The Chicago native finds a comfort in the pocket of the Clams Casino-produced instrumental. As Pia Mia exclaims that she’d fight for her lover over, Chance embodies said role in lines like, “You need me a hand, hand me that/ I’ll hold the duffle, you shovel/ I love you like blood do.”
Chance approaches his verses with harmonies and an abstract flow, making his style of rapping appealing to artists outside of Hip-Hop. Expect to hear him collab with many more artists outside of Hip-Hop in the future.
“Fight For You” appears on the Divergent Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, due out March 11 on Interscope Records. Stream the song below.
