A Pennsylvania woman was arrested for selling heroin from her hospital bed. Drug dealers don’t get days off.

Lori Sullenberger, 38, was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor charges for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

Sullenberger was in the ICU at Excela Westmoreland Hospital for an unrelated cause. Hospital staff figured out something was going down because of all foot traffic, and “visitors” weren’t staying very long. “Not patients coming to stay two hours, but patients coming to stay two minutes. They thought that was really odd, so they contacted security,” said Excela Health spokeswoman Jennifer Miele.

Then there was the lady who didn’t even know Sullenberger’s last name (dealer’s probably aren’t big on giving out their government information). Her ignorance pretty much sealed the deal.

An informant bought 30 bags from Sullenberger and then busted her. Police confiscated 380 bags (valued at close to $4,000) of the drug hidden all around the hospital room, plus $1,420 in cash.

Her cohorts, boyfriend, Jason Bates, 32, and 27-year-old Robert Rearick, were charged with misdemeanors for their part in the hospital drug push.
