It’s hard to believe that Lil Wayne (and the entire Cash Money) never dedicated their souls to a liquor brand. Sure, there have GTV Vodka in their cellars but it’s not strong enough to propel their artists to start spitting that next level firewater. Evidenced from Lil Wayne’s decision to make an audio commercial for Jay Z’s D’USSÉ VSOP Cognac.

The new record was previewed by Wayne himself for yesterday’s Weezy Wednesdays (May 15). According to Wayne’s Twitter, he’s been locked in an all day studio session as he’s churning away butter to give us those flames.

Although the verdict is still out whether or not this new freebie will make Tha Carter V or just a passing through “Carter V Season” (most likely the latter), it does pack quite the 100-proof shot during its four-minute duration.

Weezy F. reminds the world not only that he’s still one of the wittiest rhymers around but also that Lil Twist is still down with the set. The end shoutout exposes the high-top faded youngster as being a lightweight who passed out to Hova’s concoction but that’s what the early 20s are for.

Patient fans have been rewarded from the Young Money sound vault as of late. The first single to Wayne’s new Carter featured Drake and was well-received across the board.

Stream this “Dusse” (Freestyle) below (as Cortez Bryant calls it) and see if you think Weezy is on the right track with it.
