New York Knicks guard Raymond Felton is looking to put his gun charge struggle in the past by entering a plea deal with the Manhattan Criminal Court.

The 29-year-old Felton was arrested for felony gun possession in February of this year after a dispute with his soon-to-be-ex-wife got uglier than the Knicks’ regular season record. He was facing serious prison time but the NYDailyNews has discovered that he and his lawyers are looking to reach a disposition with a cooperating district attorney.

“We’ve been attempting to work out a disposition, and both sides need just a little more time,” Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Rebold told the newspaper. Felton’s next court date has been scheduled for June 23.

Since Felton doesn’t have any prior criminal convictions, it is being heavy speculated by attorneys not involved in the case that he skate without having to serve any jail time.
