Cult film Cocaine Cowboys is being revisited with additional footage and commentary. Better yet, it will premiere on Showtime this fall.

Originally released in 2006, the movie covered the bloody rise of the cocaine epidemic that swept through the Miami, Florida area in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The documentary would become infamous for some of the notorious characters it highlighted and is a favorite among plenty of Hip-Hop fans.

Cocaine Cowboys Reloaded features additional stories that have never been told about Griselda Blanco, the Medellín Cartel, and Miami’s Cocaine Wars, with firsthand accounts by hitman Jorge ‘Rivi’ Ayala, cocaine trafficker Jon Roberts, smuggler Mickey Munday, and others. Hundreds of hours interview footage and updated archival footage have used in this new version of the doc.

Cocaine Cowboys Reloaded, directed by Billy Corben of Rakontur, premieres on the Showtime network in September. You can view an outtake of the video below.
