Dustin Diamond, who will forever be known as Screech from Saved By The Bell, made headlines after he was arrested back in December for allegedly stabbing a man in a bar. Although Diamond posted bail, he’ll have to stand trial after a judge’s ruling on Monday (Jan. 5).

Diamond, who has had a rocky go of it since his acting days, was reportedly fighting inside the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington, Wis. on Christmas Day. Apparently, he and his fiancee were in a “tussle” with patrons where he claimed to have accidentally stabbed a man while defending his wife-to-be.

More from CBS News:

Dustin Diamond is charged with reckless endangerment and two other counts in the fight at a bar near Milwaukee.

Ozaukee County Judge Paul Malloy heard a police officer’s testimony Monday before saying there is enough evidence for the case against Diamond to continue.

A criminal complaint says Diamond and his fiancee got into a tussle with two men and a woman at the Grand Avenue Saloon in Port Washington. Diamond lives in the small community 30 miles north of Milwaukee.

Diamond’s other charges include disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon. The has not been a determination made on jail time, but Diamond might have to serve depending on the outcome of the trial.
