Bobby Shmurda was schedule to start his trial on various drug conspiracy and gun charges today, June 25. However, the Brooklyn rapper’s trial has been delayed because he was recently arrested after getting caught with a prison shank.

Reports Bossip:

Shmurda, real name Ackquille Pollard, was nabbed June 23 for the incident two days earlier, where he was observed being passed the weapon, prosecutors announced Thursday, the day his conspiracy trial was supposed to begin in Manhattan Criminal Court.

“The defendant was rearrested on the 23rd for an incident on the 21st,” Assistant District Attorney Susan Lanzatella said. “He was arrested for receiving a sharpened metal object.”

It’s not clear how or if this new charge will affect his other charges of gang conspiracy, weapons and drug charges. Shmurda is scheduled to appear on the shank charge in Bronx Criminal Court on June 26.

This latest revelation is only a part of of the “Hot Ni**a” rapper’s struggle.

Lanzatella revealed that the plea deal being offered to Shmurda is eight years in prison and five years of probation, if he were to cop to criminal possession of a weapon. Also, his trial has been postponed until October, 2015.

Shmurda is still being held on $2M bail. Read more about Shmurda’s latest troubles over at Bossip.
