While CNN crowns Nas as the game’s greatest lyricist, many who know better will give you the argument the Rakim trumps all. 

Out of the blue, an unreleased song from the God MC hits the net produced by Dominic Owen called “Bring It On.” Allegedly, this song might have been recorded way back in 1995 at High Class Studios in Brooklyn.

If true, this is proof positive that good Hip-Hop is truly timeless. This smooth cut is golden era Hip-Hop by one of the greatest lyricists to ever touch a microphone. Rakim, who was awarded the I Am Hip-Hop Icon award at the marred BET Hip-Hop Awards this past year, shows exactly why he’s regarded as one of the legends in this old track that sounds like it could have been released yesterday.
