On Friday (Aug 7), Rakim surprised fans when he took to Instagram in a since-deleted post and proposed an iconic battle between himself and fellow legendary lyricist Big Daddy Kane. This past weekend Eric B and Rakim hit the Hip-Hop community with a social-political November surprise when the @EricBandRakim Twitter account tweeted an endorsement for Cheeto Jesus himself, Donald Trump.

Peter Bailey linked up with the God MC Rakim after a performance celebrating the 30th anniversary of Paid In Full in NYC. The resulting convo found Rakim explaining his thoughts on the game not as a bitter MC, but a wiseman who insights should never be taken for granted. 

Sprite recently launched a new “Obey Your Verse” campaign featuring verses from Missy Elliott, J. Cole and Tupac emblazoned on their cans. To complement the collector’s items, Sprite debuted television commercial starring the God MC, Rakim.
