Logic was perhaps the least known artists to appear on this years XXL Freshman list, but the Baltimore rapper has worked his mystique into inking a deal with the house that Russell Simmons built. That’s right, the young MC is Def Jam’s latest signee, and to top it off, label EPV No I.D. will executive produce his debut album.

“I’m excited to take this next step in my career,” said Logic in a press statement. “It’s incredible for Def Jam [Records] and Visionary Music Group to work together, and the opportunity to collaborate with a living legend like No I.D. is priceless. I’m very humbled to be apart of the most iconic hip hop label of all time.”

The Coca!ne 80s producer also shared his thoughts on his recent signee, saying “Logic has a great future ahead and we are happy to have him at Def Jam. He has the talent to be a great artist and make a strong presence in our industry.”

We’ll see if Logic can deliver in due time, as he is set to release his new mixtape Young Sinatra: Welcome To Forever on May 7. We can confirm that the kid has bars, though. See him spit a few in his XXL Freshman freestyle below, and let us know if feel his bars in the comments.
