Grand opening, grand closing. Nicki Minaj has confirmed that her run as a judge on American Idol has come to an end after just one season.
About two weeks, US Weekly reported that the YMCMB Barbie’s time on the reality talent show had come to an end. But, the “High School” rapper officially let the world know it was done deal via her most trusty way of distributing information, Twitter. “Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!!!,” she tweeted yesterday (May 30).
Minaj’s brief time on American Idol was tumultuous, to say the least. Before she could critique her first contestant there was already chatter of her rivalry with fellow judge Mariah Carey. Make that fellow former judge as Carey also announced yesterday that was leaving the show. “W/ global success of “#Beautiful” (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol, ” tweeted the Pop singer’s PR reps.
Reportedly, Jennifer Hudson is in talks to become an American Idol judge for its next season.
