“Hey yo, Kendrick, good looking on that Summer Jam move,” says Papoose on his version of “Control.” “But you ain’t the king of sh-t!” And so it begins.
We have a running list of all the responses to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” However, this verbal volley by Pap is worthy of its own post for a few reasons.
First off, it was Kendrick that let the Brooklyn rapper crash the Summer Jam stage, but the Brooklyn rapper nevertheless pulls no punches. Although Pap does get consistently clowned for his struggle raps, he throws some sharp barbs and plain hilarious lines on here.
“Jay Z co-signed you, you was given the torch/Now you think you Big Meech, you must listen Ross,” he spits.
Also, this is the guy who despite the slander refers to himself as the KONY, so why wouldn’t he react?
Ultimately, not enough people will care because Papoose just isn’t popular enough to match up with Kendrick Lamar (see Charlamagne Tha God explain why here). But we’ll give the man credit for repping for his city regardless of his political connects.
